Karen Safer

Karen Safer, a native Angelino, is an internationally exhibited, award-winning photographic artist. Her art passion began when given camera & crayons at 3 and immersed in California’s visual language. A lifelong traveler, she has explored 230+ countries/territories, embracing the exotic and unexpected. Her inspirations range from ancients to Cindy Sherman. She began as a painter before embracing photography in college, earning a master’s degree and a professional career in design/architecture. With 14 solo and 730+ exhibits, she has received 620+ awards, including Julia M Cameron Award (First Places in Architecture and Abstract), PISPA, TIFA, reFocus, and Exposure One. Her work has been featured in 180+ publications: LENS, Dodho, ArtTalk and Spotlight. DecAGon Gallery, First Pl Patterns, CEV Gallery – First in Excellence. She exhibits worldwide: London, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Venice, Florence, Barcelona, Budapest, Dubai, São Paulo, Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Zurich, New York to Los Angeles. Her work is in collections, and she is a member of many organizations: LAAA, LACP, IAA-USA, APA-LA.
