Ani Lacy
Ani Lacy is an American artist, curator, and art historian based in Bath, UK. Her multidisciplinary practice moves between ceramics, digital collage, printmaking, and installation, exploring cultural memory, migration, and Black Atlantic histories.
Working with wild clay, terracotta, and foraged materials, she creates hand-built vessels rooted in ancestral continuance and diasporic resilience. Alongside this, her layered digital collages reframe archival and family photographs, placing Black domestic life into new landscapes of joy, agency, and belonging.
Lacy completed her MFA at Bath Spa University in 2021 and has exhibited internationally, including in the UK, the US, and Japan. Her work is informed by field research across France, Spain, and Mexico, bridging ceramic materiality, ecological memory, and experimental image-making. She is currently completing a PhD in History of Art, specialising in Black Atlantic ceramics through practice-based research.
