Ellie Goodliffe is a UK-based contemporary artist whose thought-provoking work beautifully bridges the worlds of biological science and human emotion. Completely self-taught, Ellie initially turned to drawing and painting during a challenging childhood, utilizing art as a powerful medium for emotional escape and processing.Holding a degree in Biological Science, Ellie channels her deep fascination with human health, nature, and pathophysiology into striking visual narratives. She primarily works with acrylics and paper, creating vibrant, textured pieces that explore complex psychological landscapes. She is perhaps best known for her celebrated Miserable Mushrooms series, which utilizes whimsical yet melancholic fungi as metaphors to challenge perceptions of mental illness, addiction, and shared human struggles.Balancing her creative practice with her roles as a brewery quality assurance team leader and recently becoming a new mother, Ellie’s meticulous attention to detail shines through in every series she produces. Her evocative, story-driven artwork has quickly gained international recognition, featuring in prestigious publications such as Artist Talk Magazine and Artist Close Up, alongside gallery showcases with Domio Gallery, Ten Moir, and Woman Made Gallery.
