Carol Vandanesi
I am an Italian artist based in London, a lifelong creative specialising in coloured pencil drawings, botanical, and delicate illustrative art. My work is deeply rooted in my personal story, my ancestry, and the quiet beauty of the natural world. Flowers, in particular, hold a central place in my practice, they are a bridge to my childhood in Italy, when life felt simple, magical, and full of colour.
Creating art is, for me, a form of meditation. Each drawing unfolds slowly and intentionally, shaped by close attention to detail, texture, and emotion. I studied art throughout my life and graduated in Visual Arts from Italy. After spending several years working in a different field, I recently chose to return fully to my artistic path. I am currently developing a new body of work in which I upscale my drawings and weave my memories directly into them. I believe we are all made of the stories we carry, and through my art I feel the urge to honour them, to bring beauty, tenderness, and a sense of the eternal into our brief, extraordinary lives.
